The Power of Pattern in a Small Space

We renovated our upstairs several years ago and turned a laundry closet into a laundry room. (I’ll dig up more pictures of that and post later.) I’m pretty sure a load of laundry has been running ever since the renovation was finished and I just recently thought about the decorating part. It would be easy to overlook a small and hardworking room, but WHY? I spend hours of my life here!

The Power of Pattern in a Small Space

The Inside reached out to me about using one of their wallpapers and this small but mighty spot seemed perfect for pattern. I used their Vert Woodland peel and stick paper and was able to complete the entire job by myself. (Okay actually, my husband did have to hoist me out from behind the dryer one night when I got stuck, but fortunately, there’s no video evidence.) The wallpaper is thick and was easy to remove and reposition when I got off track. I also love a bold pattern that’s easy to match up and forgiving when not exact. (I ended up using five rolls for this project.)

I also ordered some new woven laundry baskets, pulled in some art from downstairs and added a little lamp.

  5. Striped runner
  6. Gold wall sconces
  7. Woven laundry baskets
  8. Glass canister
  9. Small lamp (I pieced mine together from a shade and base I already had.)

Homemade Butterscotch Pudding Recipe – Creations by Kara

This homemade Butterscotch Pudding recipe is easier than most, but makes the richest, creamiest pudding that doesn’t even compare to the boxed variety. Such an underrated dessert! You don’t have to separate the egg yolks from the whites, so it...
