When I think of the Super Bowl, I think of hanging out with friends, gathering around the television, eating and drinking (of course), and laughing at funny commercials.
I’m not a die hard football fan by any means…but the Super Bowl is an exciting time of the year. Being raised in the Washington DC area, I grew up a Washington Redskins fan. It’s been over 25 years since the Redskins have won a Super Bowl, but I still remember how exciting that day was back in 1992 when a group of my friends and I were hanging out watching the exciting win! Yes, I am still a Washington football fan today, I have never wavered but they sure do make it hard to stay tried and true 😩.
Even though my team didn’t make it to the Super Bowl…or even the playoffs..I still enjoy the gathering of friends for a sporting event. Let’s face it…is there really any other day of the year when we look forward to watching TV commercials?
Whether you are heading to a friends home, or hosting at yours, you will want plenty of snacks and munchies on hand to feed the crew. Today, I’m sharing a few food ideas for the big event.
Dessert Ideas for the Super Bowl
Last year, I made football brownies to take to a friend’s home. I prepared a batch of brownies and used a round cookie cutter that I bent slightly to form the shape of a football.
I used white icing for the top which was a bit runny. I suggest ensuring the brownies are completely cool before adding the icing…or it will run like mine did 🙂
Dips and Snack Ideas for Super Bowl Sunday
Another crowd pleaser is my Artichoke and Cheese dip. I’m not a big artichoke lover, but I do like them in this dish. Serve the dip warm with crackers or french bread and this cheesy dish will be loved by all.
Fun to make and easy to eat is this Loaded Baked Potato Skins Recipe. Kids love them and adults too. Pop open a can of beer and game on!
A Charcuterie Board is one of the easiest and funnest ways to feed your friends. Include meats, cheeses, breads, spreads, chocolate, fruits, and nuts to create a spread everyone will enjoy. Check out my post for tips on making a Charcuterie Board yourself.
What better snack when gathered around the TV..than Popcorn! Check out my recipe for authentic “Movie Theater” Popcorn.
Any nut lovers out there? This Amazing Candied Pecan Recipe is to die for! Never a scrap left in the bowl when I bring this out.
A Candy Cart is another fun idea for a group. Styling a bar cart HERE, HERE and HERE with candy is an attractive way to serve one of our favorite treats.
Hearty Entree Ideas that will Feed a Crowd on Super Bowl Sunday
For a more substantial meal to feed a large group, this Chicken and Sausage Jambalaya Dish is perfect for cooler weather and such a satisfying meal.
If you really want to impress your guests with fancy sandwiches, this Croque Monsier Recipe is a must! It’s hearty and filling and brings a bit of french flair to the event. Oh la la! 😉
Looking for an amazing and super easy snack to feed a crowd? This Baked Ham and Cheese Slider Recipe is the bomb and will not disappoint!
Lastly, I can’t forget about my friends on the KETO diet. Die hard KETO lovers want to enjoy the Super Bowl as much as everyone else, so make sure you have a KETO friendly meal like my Crock Pot Beef Brisket available for those who don’t want to derail all the hard work them have achieved by getting their body into Ketosis. They will be so appreciative!
