Impress with Iced Coffee Cubes

The best hostess hacks for entertaining at home are any tricks that are low effort, but highly impressive for your guests. Serving iced coffee cubes & then topping them with iced coffee in front of your guest is one of those tricks!

Iced Coffee with Iced Coffee Cubes

One hosting tip that I’ve seen literally blow people’s minds time and time again is serving them iced coffee ice cubes with their iced coffee. Simply use your coffee of choice (in my case I chose Torque Coffee) and make it ahead of time into ice cubes. This is a great option to serve while hosting over night guests at breakfast, during a more casual setting such as an afternoon visit, or after a meal.

Torque Coffee

Torque Coffee gifted me a bag to try out. They’re a new coffee company which is woman-owned, and woman-roasted that focuses on proportional pricing. That means even before you buy a bag of Torque Coffee, they’ve prepaid 20% of the price directly to the farmer or cooperative who produced the beans. They also use recycled, reusable, and compostable packaging. The coffee itself is sweet, balanced, simple to brew & absolutely delicious to drink.

Torque Coffee was super generous and is extending a discount to all of you so that you can give them a try! You can buy it on their website & use code: HOUSE10 at checkout to save 10%.

Presentation is Everything!

The proper presentation for this beverage will absolutely wow your guests & take this coffee experience to the next level. While you can use a traditional ice cube tray, a fun shaped ice mold – such as these sphere ones will go a long way. You’ll also want to make sure that you’re using a clear glass, such as these ones that come with glass straws, instead of a solid or patterned glass as it will enhance the visual presentation. Then you’re going to look like the hostess with the mostest when you serve this beverage directly in front of the guest (because if you pre pour it they might not notice how genius you are).

In order to get the most compliments – follow these service steps when serving this beverage:

  1. Ask your guests how they take their iced coffee. Offer them the options of the accoutrements that you have on hand such as milk, cream, sugar etc.
  2. Place the requested accoutrements, a pitcher of iced coffee, and clear glasses filled with coffee ice cubes on a tray (including one for yourself – because you know you’ll want one too).
  3. Bring over the tray to your guest(s). Place the glass with coffee cubes in front of the person you’re serving. Then place down the milk/sugar as well.
  4. You will almost always get an instant reaction from the guest when they see that the ice cubes are not clear, but instead coffee colored. The typical responses are typically surprise & intrigue along the lines of “Oh wow! What’s that?”
  5. Now here’s where you get to do a humble brag about how you made them iced coffee ice cubes, because you didn’t want them to have a diluted by coffee by the time the ice melted so you displayed your hospitality by eliminating that potential problem by planning ahead.
  6. Once the compliments have subsided you can pour the iced coffee into their glass for them.
  7. Now its time to pour yourself a glass & enjoy it with them.

Not Just for Coffee

Another perk of this trick is that it can easily translate to be used for beverages of all sorts. Some of my other favorites to serve to my guests include iced tea, lemonade, and even juice that you want to be served super cold.
