Exploring Sedona – Erin Spain

I recently took a trip to Sedona, Arizona, and it was absolutely spectacular. I have so much to share about the trip that I’ll be breaking it up into multiple posts, but today I wanted to just share a broad overview of the entire trip. First of all, if you’ve never been to Sedona, GO! It is so beautiful, and there is just something so calming and healing about it. It’s hard to even explain but it has an energy all its own.

I took my cousin and my friend on this girls’ trip with me, and we had an amazing time. We started by flying into Phoenix and taking a shuttle 2 hours to Sedona, where we stayed at The Wilde Resort & Spa.

On our first full day there, we started the morning with a sound healing session at the spa. I highly recommend this! It was a great way to kick off our trip and put us in a peaceful mindset.

After that, we hiked to the Vortex at Boynton Canyon. Sedona is famous for its spiritual “vortexes,” or swirling centers of energy that some people describe as spiritual in nature.

There are 7 of these in Sedona, as well as several located in sacred spots all over the world. I’ll be sharing more about this hike (as well as the other locations we visited) in my next post.

While there were many trails we didn’t have time to check out that I wish we could’ve, I’m so glad we did this one. The views were breathtaking and the hike wasn’t difficult.

We finished the day off with individual intuitive readings with June, a “seer, medium, and adviser” at the spa. Then, we had dinner at Rascal, the restaurant located at the resort where we stayed. We ended up being regulars there since it was so convenient and the food was so good.

The next day we started the morning with a group meditation at the spa. This trip was all about healing and relaxing so I’m so glad we splurged on some wellness services like this one.

After our meditation we took an Uber to the Chapel of the Holy Cross, another Sedona vortex. This is another destination I highly recommend checking out and it’s easy to drive to. It’s usually pretty crowded though so keep that in mind.

We got lucky since we were visiting during a winter storm, so the crowds weren’t as intense but the snow was actually really beautiful and mostly melted by the second day of our trip. We tried to visit the first day but it was closed due to snow so we shot a few pics from down below and then visited again later on.

Next, we befriended our Uber driver, Larry, and he was nice enough to drive us around to some pretty locations to shoot photos before dropping us off at the Airport Mesa trail for our sunset hike.

First, we hiked to the Airport Mesa Vortex since it’s a short easy climb.

Then, from there we took a sunset hike on the Airport Loop trail (more on this later, along with the other hikes/destinations we visited).

In between our hiking adventures we spent time at our resort, and I’ll share more about that in another post too.

Overall, our trip was exactly what each of us needed right now. It was relaxing, healing, rejuvenating, and all the things we needed it to be. I’m so thankful we had the opportunity to go.

I’m also very excited to announce that I just launched a new travel YouTube channel! This trip along with my future trips will be featured there, so feel free to subscribe to that here if you’re interested. I’m excited to get back into video content production as my other channel has been collecting dust for quite some time.

You can also follow my travel Instagram account here.

Be sure to head over to my new YouTube channel to watch my Sedona vlog video here.

Also, if you subscribe to my travel newsletter you will receive a free download of a high res photo from Sedona. (For your personal use.) I recently had this one framed for my bedroom wall. CLICK HERE TO SUBSCRIBE! This photo is a view from the Airport Mesa Vortex.
