I always think the new year trend predictions for interiors are kind of a hoot and never pay much attention to them. But, if these lists hold any weight, I was happy to see that COLOR seems to be on the uptick. According to House Beautiful, bold color–specifically chartreuse–is making a comeback. I know neutral rooms feel safe and noncommittal, but if you love color deep in your heart, life is too short to live in a gray house. Scared to paint a room? Sneak in a pillow, add some colorful taper candles or grab a quart of paint and change up a small piece of furniture. It’s an instant energizer.
My personal case for chartreuse is that it pairs so well with emerald green (another favorite) but also adds a pop to chocolate brown, animal print, all shades of blue and even deep red.
